Making Cruise Payments – How (and When) to Pay

A near literal image of me at my favorite vendor’s booth 😅
It’s come to my attention that the new Cruise Brothers invoices aren’t always clear about how payments can be made – so let’s go over your options to make sure everything goes smoothly!
Cruise payments for Tekko’s Tropical Voyage aren’t set up to be automatic, which gives you the flexibility to pay when you want, for the amount you want, on the card you want. This setup is especially helpful for friends sharing a stateroom, since each person can handle their own portion without one person managing everything on a single card.
Here’s how you can make a payment:
📞 Option 1: Call the person listed at the top right of your invoice. This is typically Gail at 800-772-0847 x4910 or Melanie at 401-646-2600, unless another direct number is listed. Their hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM ET.
📞 Option 2: Call 888-341-6651 and ask for the JCS Cruise Desk. Their hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM ET, and Saturday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM ET.
🖥️ Option 3: I know calling during business hours can be difficult for some. If so, you can email me directly, and I can send you a secure authorization link to complete a payment that I’ll process on your behalf during business hours.
Cruise Brothers has been undergoing a major upgrade of their online system, and unfortunately, their online payment portal likely won’t be ready before our final payment date. While that convenience would have been nice, the options above are easy, flexible, and secure.
Final Payment Reminder: The remaining balance for your cabin is due by end of day on January 9, 2026. You’re welcome (and it’s highly recommended) to make payments at your own pace anytime before then.
Flying to the Cruise? Let’s Talk Flights & Air2Sea

Sunset seen from a plane
As we get closer to setting sail, many of you will soon be booking your flights to Florida! Our ship, the Explorer of the Seas, departs from Port Canaveral (Orlando) – and the easiest and most popular airport to fly into is Orlando International Airport (MCO).
You can book your flights however you prefer, but there’s also a convenient option offered directly through Royal Caribbean called Air2Sea.

Royal Caribbean’s Air2Sea
Here’s what to know about it:
What is Air2Sea?
Air2Sea is Royal Caribbean’s flight booking program. It lets you book airfare through them, often at competitive rates, while linking your flight information directly to your cruise reservation.
Why Consider It?
24/7 travel assistance: If your flight is delayed or canceled on the day of departure, Royal Caribbean’s Air2Sea team works directly with the airline to get you to the ship.
Peace of mind: Since it’s tied to your cruise booking, the Air2Sea team monitors flights and coordinates with the ship if issues arise.
Flexible options: You can choose between flexible or restricted fare types – great for comparing price versus change flexibility.
Booking window: Flights can typically be booked through Air2Sea as soon as they become available (usually around 9–11 months before sailing) and up to 4 days before departure – though booking early almost always provides the best availability and pricing.
How to Book It:
If you’d like to look into Air2Sea, contact the JCS Cruise Desk (888-341-6651) or email me, and we can review flight options together. Air2Sea flights are available to all cruise guests once your reservation is confirmed.
💡 Elijah’s Tips:
Whenever possible, plan to arrive in Florida at least one day early. This helps avoid travel stress from flight delays or weather issues – and gives you extra time to rest before embarkation day.
🕒 Recommended Flight Times:
Travel time from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Port Canaveral is typically about 45–60 minutes, though it can take longer with traffic or shuttle transfers.
Arrival: Plan to arrive in Orlando no later than 11:00 AM on embarkation day, or better yet, the day before sailing.
Departure: On disembarkation day, book return flights that depart no earlier than 1:00 PM to allow for disembarkation, travel time back to MCO, and check-in at the airport.
✈️ Extra Flight Tip: Give Yourself a Buffer!
Airports, shuttles, and cruise terminals can all run on slightly different schedules – so it’s always best to plan a little extra time between your flight and embarkation.
🧳 If you’re taking a shared shuttle, group transfer, or rideshare from Orlando to Port Canaveral, expect the total travel and boarding process to take about 90 minutes door-to-door once you factor in luggage pickup and check-in.
When flying, plan to arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight’s scheduled departure to allow time for bag check, security, and boarding.
Arriving the day before your cruise (and staying overnight nearby) is still the smoothest and least stressful option – but if you’re flying in the morning of, a little cushion time makes all the difference!
✈️ Accessibility Note:
If you or someone in your party requires wheelchair assistance or mobility support at the airport, this can be arranged directly through your airline when booking your ticket or added later by calling their customer service line. Most airports – including Orlando (MCO) – offer curb-to-gate assistance to help ensure a smoother travel experience.

A Taste of the Tropics – Nassau Edition

Bahamian cuisine celebrates flavor and community.
After All That Planning, Let’s Get to the Delicious Part…
You’ve handled the payments, flights, and logistics – now it’s time to dream about something a little more fun: the flavors waiting for us in the Bahamas! When we dock in Nassau, you’ll have the perfect chance to enjoy a true taste of island life – from fresh seafood and sweet tropical treats to vibrant local drinks.
Here are a few favorites you might want to try during our stop:
🍤 Conch Fritters – Crispy on the outside and tender inside, these are the Bahamas’ most famous snack! Made with minced conch (a local shellfish), herbs, and peppers, they’re best enjoyed with a side of spicy dipping sauce.
🍹 Nassau Royale – A sweet, tropical cocktail that blends rum, Nassau Royale Liqueur, pineapple juice, orange juice, grenadine, and bitters. It’s a rich and flavorful drink that reflects the Bahamas’ warm, fruity character and is a local favorite in Nassau.
🍍 Guava Duff – A traditional Bahamian dessert made with guava fruit rolled into dough, steamed, and served with a rich rum or butter sauce. Sweet, fragrant, and uniquely Bahamian.
🍺 Kalik Beer – The beer of the Bahamas, Kalik is light, crisp, and refreshing – perfect for enjoying beachside. Its name comes from the sound of cowbells, which are an important part of Bahamian Junkanoo celebrations.
🥤 Switcha – The National Bahamian Drink, Switcha is a tart-sweet lemonade made with local limes instead of lemons. It’s bright, refreshing, and the perfect nonalcoholic way to cool off on a sunny day.
If you’d like to read more about Bahamian food culture and plan your culinary stops, check out these guides from Royal Caribbean and Nassau Paradise Island:
And if you want to experience the best of Nassau’s food scene firsthand, consider joining a local food tour through one of our trusted partners!
