Planning Check-In: Group Rates, Universal Interest & January Deadlines
A quick holiday-season update on group rates closing soon, Universal Orlando interest, and important January 9 payment and insurance deadlines for Tekko’s Tropical Voyage.

Planning Ahead: Group Rates, Universal Interest & Important January Deadlines

Ahoy, Tekko fans!
As we head into the holiday season, I hope you’re finding time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the end of the year. With the New Year just around the corner, this felt like the perfect moment to share a few timely updates and planning reminders for Tekko’s Tropical Voyage – along with a little inspiration for what’s ahead.
If you haven’t already, I also invite you to join the official Tekko’s Tropical Voyage Facebook group. It’s the best place to connect with fellow cruisers, get quick updates, and start building excitement as we count down together.
Universal Orlando After the Cruise -
Gauging Interest

I’ve had a few attendees reach out about the idea of adding Universal Orlando as a post-cruise extension after we return to Port Canaveral – potentially for two or three days at the parks.
Universal offers group pricing and packages, but eligibility is based on the number of hotel rooms booked, not just the number of people interested. Before exploring group options, I’d like to get a clearer sense of interest.
If this is something you’d consider, please let me know:
Whether you’d be interested in a post-cruise Universal stay
Roughly how many rooms you might need
How many nights you’d be thinking about
Even a tentative “maybe” is helpful at this stage. If there’s enough interest, I can look into group-rate possibilities and package options.
And if we don’t end up with enough interest to qualify for a group rate, no worries – I can still assist with Universal ticket discounts, hotel options, and individual bookings on a one-on-one basis for anyone who wants to add a few days of theme park fun after the cruise.
Group Rates Closing Soon –
Last Call for Friends to Join You at Special Rates!

Our Tekko’s Tropical Voyage group rates will be closing soon. After that point, any remaining cabins will be subject to prevailing retail pricing, which can be higher and less flexible.
If you have friends who’ve been:
Now is the time to nudge them. | Booking before the group rates close ensures:

New availability update:
We’ve also been able to secure two additional regular balcony staterooms at the $904.15 per person group rate. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be a great option if:
You’re considering an upgrade, or
A friend you’d like to sail with was specifically hoping for a balcony
Once these are gone, that category at this rate will no longer be available.
If anyone you know has questions or needs help getting booked, feel free to send them my way.
Reminders
📅
Important January Deadlines to Keep on Your Radar
🎁 Think of this as your cruise planning checklist – holiday edition.
💳 Final Cruise Payment – Due January 9
Final payment for the cruise is due by January 9
You may receive a system-generated reminder email placing it about two weeks earlier
This is intentional and designed to help avoid last-minute processing issues
Especially helpful given payment system limitations and holiday timing
As a reminder, here’s how you can make a payment on the cruise:
📞 Option 1: Call the person listed at the top right of your invoice (typically Gail at 800-772-0847 x4910, unless another direct number is listed). Gail’s hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM ET.
📞 Option 2: Call 888-341-6651 and ask for the JCS Cruise Desk. Their hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM ET, and Saturday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM ET.
🖥️ Option 3: If you’re unable to call, you can email me directly and I can send a secure authorization link for you to complete a payment that I’ll process on your behalf during business hours.
🛡️ Travel Insurance Timing Matters
Insurance timing is important if you want full coverage benefits:
Cruise line insurance must be purchased before final payment
Allianz travel insurance must also be purchased before final payment to receive full pre-existing condition and cancellation benefits
If you’re considering insurance but haven’t finalized plans yet, I strongly recommend taking care of it before January 9 to keep all options open.
I’m always happy to walk through coverage differences or provide a personalized quote.
